Training Fixes & Summoning as Roleplay
September 9, 2026 · Enael
Some more updates. They get added piece by piece, so this list is the
work done since our 1.2 announcement, not purely just what booted in
today. More things on their way, hopefully before Friday!
Bugs
- Fixed actions not clearing when a character moves out of a room.
- Sworn oaths to demons ("I swear I will...") are now checked against what actually happened, not just your word for it.
- Fixed evocation, ritual casting, and invocation training your magic abilities far less than intended, some spells were training nothing at all.
- Fixed several combat skills (sword, mace, polearm, shield, disarm, flail) not training unless you had a matching background.
- Defend and lunge now actually train the relevant defense skill when used.
- Fixed missile weapon (bow/throwing) skills never training against another player.
- The training dummy no longer calls you a "punk" indefinitely after a friendly sparring match.
- Fixed a demon's circle-breaking attempts being far more dangerous than intended, circles now hold roughly as long as they're supposed to, with a guaranteed pause between attempts.
- Fixed demons never warning clearly that they're a genuine threat when your circle is weak.
- Erasing a summoning circle no longer occasionally leaves an invisible duplicate behind.
- Fixed weekly job payouts and the job reset not landing reliably on the correct day.
- Fixed RPXP scene-quality indicator (%T) not appearing in the default prompt.
- Fixed RPXP payouts stopping a few minutes after your last post, even mid-scene, a long, thoughtful pose now keeps paying for the whole scene.
- Fixed an issue where emoting while possessing an NPC would not parse through the standard emote handler.
- The physician in the clinic now greets a wounded arrival once, instead of spamming.
- Fixed metallurgy's frame being out by a few characters.
- Fixed metallurgy now showing its category when typing
abilities without an argument.
- Fixed
/self plus punctuation doubling the character's name in an emote.
- Increased inspiration windows so the command without an argument more accurately reports your pool.
- Fixed several math issues with advantage purchases.
- Minor helpfile pointer fixes.
- Improving constitution did not raise max HP, and charisma did not raise appearance. Fixed both, recalculated on login. Some characters' stats may have shifted.
- Fixed
evoke mid-cast killing the thread harmlessly.
- Fixed Sorcerous Domain referencing an old TI spell.
- Fixed movement regenerating during combat, it should no longer do that.
- Fixed dummies actually harming people sparring with them. They now only ever take the guard action.
- Fixed being able to gain RPXP in chargen by RPing there.
- Fixed an issue with the Ormadicum race being 12 stat points short of the rest.
Features
- Language pooling during scenes buffed further.
- Buffed combat pooling to double what it was after the last change.
- Combat pooling now doubled during scenes, such as when sparring.
- Summoning now listens to rpechoes, whispers, and emotes, and has changed from a tick-bark system to a complete RP addition. Demons still bark during silence, though.
- Summoning awards RPXP as you RP with a demon, increased when other players are sharing the scene.
- In housing,
rekey <dir> and rekey <dir> main puts the door back on the main house key for free.
- When a door goes back to the main key, or is rekeyed a second time, every copy of the old key crumbles.
- Direction words move you inside the editor.
n walks north instead of opening the room name prompt, for instance.
- Physician wound prices now scale with wound severity.
help guilds now opens the Guilds helpfile, and help guild sorcerer opens the Guild Sorcerer helpfile. Duplicates cleaned up.
remember now works on demons and other non-players.
- Forms updated to give more benefits to summoning rank.
help summon open to all sorcerers, forms locked behind the Path of Demons.
- Aliased
stop to halt.
Admin Goodies
pool <name> now shows the correct training threshold for the character being inspected, not the immortal doing the inspecting.
- Trickle-style ability pools too small to show under the old display threshold now show dimmed instead of vanishing, so "am I actually learning this?" has an honest answer.
- Intro approve now immediately applies the player's short desc.
- Expanded the award command.
- Added
forms [player] to view a player's Forms of Address.
