Husbandry 6 changes

  • Husbandry is a new skill: you keep hens, ducks, geese, sheep, goats, pigs, cows and bees. Anyone can learn it from the livestock dealer in the new Livestock Market, east of the Farmer's Friend Stables in Escard. You do not need to be in the Merchants' guild. See help husbandry.
  • A house or shop can now have up to 2 farm buildings in one outdoor room: a coop, a pen, a sty, hives or a barn. Buy them with permanent add in the house editor. A barn has a room of its own, which you go into with enter barn. See help house fixtures.
  • The livestock dealer sells each animal as a tally. Claim it at your farm with husbandry claim, or give it away, sell it in a player shop or sell it back to the dealer.
  • Feed and tend your animals, breed them, and collect eggs, milk, wool, honeycomb and beeswax. You can churn milk into butter, make cheese, and slaughter an animal to butcher and skin it. See help farm animals.
  • Hens, ducks and geese go into their coop at night and when it rains or snows, and come out into the yard on fair days. look in coop shows the birds and their eggs. Type close coop to keep the birds where they are.
  • Farm animals come in several colours. You can pick one out by its colour, as in look black.

Tattoos 3 changes

  • Runesmiths can now tattoo you with ink they make. Other people see the tattoo when they look at you, unless something you wear covers it. A tattoo fades 30 days after it is finished. See help tattoo.
  • Runesmithing has ten new ink recipes, from iron ink at rank 10 to diamond ink at rank 56. See help inks.
  • Halvard the toolwright sells tattooing needles.

The Field Book 2 changes

  • The Whitaker General Store in Escard sells a naturalist's field book. It has 89 entries for animals, fish, herbs, wild food and stones. You fill in an entry by finding the thing, finding it again and putting it to use. Each part you fill in earns experience. See help fieldbook.
  • Type observe <animal> to watch an animal for your field book. When an entry is finished, the book shows a sketch beside it.

Combat 4 changes

  • You can now pool up to a rank and a half of a combat skill in one fight.
  • In a fight, the time left on spells and other effects on you stops counting down. Each round that ends takes 5 minutes off them instead. See help combat.
  • In a fight, poison hurts you once at the end of each round, instead of every 45 seconds.
  • A creature knocked out in a fight gets back up once its knockout wears off, if no fight is going on in the room.

Crafts 3 changes

  • Anyone with a hatchet can chop trees for logs. You no longer need woodworking. See help woodworking.
  • The leathercraft bracer recipes now make two bracers, one for each wrist.
  • Weaving has 15 new recipes for the home: cushions, pillows, blankets, curtains, a rug, quilts, sheets, a tablecloth, napkins and wall hangings. At every rank from 1 to 73 there is now a weaving recipe that still raises your skill. See weave list.

Metallurgy 2 changes

  • The metallurgy workings Edge, Mirror, Perch, Harden, Second Skin, Steady and Iron Will now last one minute for each rank in their school. Still and Drop last two minutes for each rank. None lasts less than 30 minutes. metallurgy <school> shows how long each lasts.
  • If your rank is too low for a metallurgy working, the message now says which rank you need, such as "You need rank 22 in Shaping to use edge." The metallurgy helps are reworded.
